"A Dark Quiet Death" was the fifth episode of the first season of Mythic Quest.

Synopsis[]

From inception to demise, the life cycle of the video game Dark Quiet Death and its sequel, Dark Quiet Death II.

Plot[]

A true standalone episode with none of the main characters are involved. Two game creators Doc and Beans start working on their game "Dark Quiet Death'. Although the game is a success to begin with, conflict starts to ensue between the partners as they develop the sequel, with Bean trying to keep the corporate office from changing her game whilst Doc works to increase players by altering parts of the game that truly made it special.

  • Doc and Beans take their nicknames from the game Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine which they talk about during their first meeting.
  • Both Oubliette Studios and Mythic Quest Studios will work out of the Harrison & Sons Textiles building, which was the location of a fire that claimed the lives of forty-two people a hundred years before 1996. Almost every business that has set up in the building has failed, leading to speculation of a curse.
  • The character of Roscoe fully debuts here as a spin-off from the Dark Quiet Death universe. Toys available of Roscoe including Deep Sea Roscoe, Safari Roscoe, Princess Roscoe, Arctic Attack Roscoe and Rappin' Roscoe (with boombox).
